With a thickness of only 20mm and sporting a 28mm wide-angle lens, the Canon Digital IXUS 120 IS is the thinnest wide-angle IXUS ever. The IXUS 120 IS offers 4x optical zoom with optical image stabilisation and a 2.7 inch PureColor LCD II display. It also comes with a 12.1 megapixels CCD image sensor to capture every scene in fine detail. Intelligent features such as Smart Auto, with Scene Detection Technology, analyses your composition and determines the most ideal settings from its preset range of 22 scenes. Canon’s DIGIC 4 processor makes the Digital IXUS 120 IS more responsive and ensures great image-quality while Face Detection Technology detects faces in a shot and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance. FaceSelf-Timer makes group photos and self-portraits easy by taking the shot when an extra face is detected in the frame. Also available while in Smart Auto mode, Motion Detection Technology ascertains movement of both camera and subject and then sets the optimum ISO to best deliver sharp, clear images. Another feature which ensure the IXUS 120 IS delivers great images is the i-Contrast feature. It ensures detail is retained in images by brightening dark areas and preventing blown-out highlights. On the movie recording front, the Canon Digital IXUS 120 IS can capture widescreen (16:9) movies in high definition (1280x720, 30fps) and allows convenient playback on HD TVs using its mini HDMI connection.
